Data source

Tracking is powered by configured AIS providers such as AISStream, VesselAPI, MarineTraffic or VesselFinder. Provider coverage, update frequency and available fields vary by configuration and region. When no API key is configured, the platform displays simulated vessel positions for demonstration purposes only.

Coverage limitations

AIS coverage is strongest near major ports, coastal areas and high-traffic sea lanes. Coverage thins in open-ocean passages, polar regions and areas with sparse terrestrial receiver networks. Position data should not be used as the sole source of a vessel location decision.

Broker focus

Commercial filters suppress fishing vessels, pleasure craft, tugs and other non-commercial traffic so the map stays relevant for freight, sale and capacity workflows. Enriched fields such as DWT, GT, draft and built year appear when the provider or listing database can supply them.
